Prospective Students

prospective students at OSU eventOnce you've been admitted to OSU, you enroll in Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) by registering for AERO 1111, just as you would any other course. Upon registration, the Detachment 670 recruiting officer will contact you outlining instructions for in-processing online, formalizing your application to AFROTC at OSU.

 

All AFROTC classes are taught at the OSU-Stillwater campus. Cross-town cadets will attend both LLAB and their AFROTC class during their once-per-week trip to OSU-Stillwater.

 

Per Oklahoma Senate Bill 138, all ROTC participants in the State of Oklahoma are now considered as 'in-state' students with respect to tuition, housing, fees and all other costs!

Eligibility

  • Be a United States citizen (prior to contracting)
  • Pass a physical examination and be certified as COMMISSION-qualified by the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB)
  • Pass the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT)
  • Meet Air Force ROTC height, weight and body fat standards
  • Pass the Air Force ROTC Physical Fitness Test each semester
  • Meet the age, moral and other qualification requirements for Air Force ROTC
  • Complete an Academic Plan of Study
  • Maintain Full-time Student Status (at least 12 credit hours per semester)

Academics

  • Aerospace Studies: (Fall/Spring)
    • Heritage and Values: (AERO 1111/AERO 1211)
    • Team and Leadership Fundamentals: (AERO 2111/AERO 2211)
    • Leading People and Effective Communication: (AERO 3103/AERO 3203)
    • National Security, Leadership Responsibilities and Commissioning Preparation: (AERO 4103/AERO 4203)
  • Leadership Laboratory (LLAB): 4:00-6:00pm every Thursday. You will be automatically enrolled in LLAB upon registration for your respective Aerospace Studies class.

Physical Training

Cadets must attend two (2) of the following four (4) PT sessions each week:

  • Tuesday, 7-8am and 4-5pm
  • Wednesday, 7-8am
  • Thursday, 1-2pm
  • Friday, 7-8am

NOTE: PT session days/times are subject to change each semester.
