Karen Bintz

Karen Bintz, Ph.D., is the President of Acuity Pro, Inc., a company specializing in digital acuity software and systems for eyecare professionals. The software is also used by astronauts on the International Space Station as part of the Ocular Health Study.
Prior to her current position, Karen worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL)
in several capacities including Program Director, Countering Terrorist Tactics Program
Office; Program Manager, Defense & International Technology Program Office; and Group
Leader, Intelligence and Applied Technology-2. During her tenure at LANL, she was
a recipient of a Los Alamos Distinguished Performance Award as a member of the Cube
Sat Team and was selected to participate in the Director’s Development Program.
Karen received her Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees in Physical Chemistry from
Oklahoma State University. Community service work includes serving as a City Commissioner
for the City of Elk City and as a volunteer and Fall Festival of the Arts Committee
Chair for the Elk City Chamber of Commerce. Karen and her husband, Daniel Bintz, O.D.,
hosted exchange students for ten years. They immensely enjoyed the opportunity to
interact with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Karen and her husband currently reside in Elk City, Oklahoma. They have four daughters,
three grandchildren, and a variety of pets.
