B.A. Political Science, '72

Julia T. Brown, Esq., graduated from OSU in 1972 with a bachelor's in political science. She is a licensed attorny through the University of Oklahoma College of Law. She has worked at all levels of government in Oklahoma, California and Washington D.C. as well as in corporate law.

 

She served as an assistant district attorney and as assistant attorney general in Oklahoma. She was an enlisted soldier and an Army judge advocate general officer. She retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and Deputy Commander of the 75th Legal Support Organization. She now serves as county manager for the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners in New Mexico.

 

Brown has conducted graduate studies in public policy and administration at several institutions nationwide. She is a member of the OSU Black Alumni Society, a lifetime member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and a lifetime member of the NAACP. She is the recipient of numerous awards and honors related to her professional experience and civic and community volunteer efforts.
