Julia Buthman

B.S. Psychology '81
Julia Buthman hails from Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and attended OSU from 1977 to 1981 on a Phillips 66 scholarship.
While attending OSU, she worked at Eskimo Joes — which has oftentimes been noted as
her greatest achievement!
Following graduation, Julia began her career as a receptionist and subsequently earned
an MBA by taking night courses at The University of Houston. She developed a passion
for finance and was employed as a financial investment professional for 38 years.
The majority of Julia’s career was spent at Bank of Montreal and Prudential Private
Capital. In addition to leading a team that invested in a variety of debt and equity
securities across many sectors, Julia was also a part of PPC's senior leadership team
and an inaugural member of PPC's Diversity Council.
Julia currently serves on the board of Whitestone REIT, a publicly traded commercial
real estate investment company. She has also been involved in leadership roles at
many non-profit organizations over the years including the North Texas Food Bank,
The First Tee of Greater Dallas, and Volunteers of America.
Julia and her husband Ken Hirsch have raised five children and currently live in Charleston,
South Carolina, with their two Brittany Spaniels. Julia enjoys golf, boating, Pilates
and international travel.
