2022 Distinguished Alumni

B.S. Sociology '74

Patricia Wasson Cobb, a native Sapulpan, graduated from OSU in 1974 with a bachelor’s of science in sociology and an equivalent minor in family relations and child development. She and her husband Patrick (class of ’73) met at Oklahoma State and married in l975.

Pat was an administrative secretary and social worker during the years before they started a family. Being a stay-at-home mom afforded her the opportunity to be involved in her three sons’ school, sports and extracurricular activities. She’s also been an active community volunteer in Tulsa throughout the years.

The Cobbs’ sons are all OSU graduates and their family now includes three daughters-in-law and eight grandchildren.

At Oklahoma State, Pat serves on the Board of Governors and Women for OSU Council.  Her Orange Passions include the Cobb Family OSU Library Speaker series, the McKnight Center for the Performing Arts, and athletic and educational scholarships — the latest of which established an endowment to benefit students aging out of the foster care system.  Having come from a single parent home and being dependent on loans and scholarships in order to attend college, Pat experienced firsthand the benevolence of others; their generosity allowed her to become a first-generation college graduate.
