Barry Epperley

Dr. Barry Epperley received his bachelor's and master's degrees in music education from OSU. He received his doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Southern California - Los Angeles.
He recently retired as the artistic director and conductor of the Signature Symphony and Chorale in Tulsa, a position he held for 35 years. He serves as a consultant to the team building the new Performing Arts Center at OSU.
Throughout his career, Epperly has worked at C.E. Donart, the high school in Stillwater at the time he was earning his master's, Disneyland's Entertainment Deivision, and he served as conductor for the United States Army Band for six years.
He moved back to Oklahoma after his position with the U.S. Army Band and taught at Oral Roberts Univeristy for 18 years. During his 35 years in Tulsa, he received numerous awards including the Governor's Arts Award, the OSU Education Hall of Fame and Barry Epperley Day in Tulsa and Oklahoma. He is most proud, however, to have shared his love of music with thousands of people through concerts all over the world.
