Daniel Grimsley
2024 Distinguished Alumni
B.S. Art, Graphic Design and Art History '96
Born and raised in Stillwater, Dan Grimsley has enjoyed drawing, writing and creating things since childhood. Although he never imagined he could make a career of it, Dan was encouraged by his parents to continue developing this talent all the way through college.
In 1995 Dan graduated from OSU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design.
He then moved to Dallas to begin his career in advertising and design, becoming a
creative director, UX/UI designer, videographer and marketing strategist. During his
time in advertising, Dan has worked at both small and large worldwide agencies. He
has led digital marketing and advertising campaigns and designed mobile apps, logos
and branded experiences for some of the largest consumer brands in the world. This
includes Universal Pictures, Brown-Forman, PepsiCo, American Airlines, National Geographic,
ConocoPhillips and the United States Air Force, among others.
Over the past 10 years, Dan has focused on sports marketing by working for a technology
company that builds complex network infrastructures for large stadiums and arenas.
He has worked with dozens of sports teams including NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Las
Vegas Raiders and the National Women’s Soccer League’s Kansas City Current. His expertise
has helped these teams’ organizations recognize the value and profitability of their
stadium digital assets, such as scoreboards, TVs and even concession stands.
