Anthony Hill
2022 Distinguished Alumni
B.A. Theatre '11
Anthony Hill was born in Springfield, Missouri, but he and his sister Erica were raised in Kansas City. After graduating from Shawnee Mission South High School, he attended Coffeyville Community College for a year. He battled injuries on the football field, but they ended up giving him free time to focus on other interests. With the support of his incredible parents, Dennis and Kathi, he began his journey in theatre.
Anthony transferred to OSU in 2008 after earning a theatre scholarship. He simultaneously walked onto the football team and became a letterman alongside hall of famers Dez Bryant, Brandon Weeden, Justin Blackmon, and Dan Bailey. Splitting his time between OSU theater and football helped him build a foundation and work ethic that he took with him to Los Angeles after graduating in 2011.
Anthony found early success with commercials and modeling, which eventually led to roles in film and television. You may have seen him in shows like NCIS, How To Get Away With Murder, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and the Scream TV series, among others. He is currently a main cast member on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, where he plays Dr. Winston Ndugu.
Anthony actively supports OSU sports, loves to spend free time working with charities for children and animals, and is thoroughly convinced that dogs and doughnuts are two things that can heal the world.
