Victoria D. Knoll, M.D., was born to Dorothy (Gross) and Terry Knoll of Hays, Kansas. She graduated with a B.S. in mathematics in 1993. While attending OSU, activities and awards included Top Ten Freshman, Top Ten Senior in the College of Arts & Sciences, Phi Mu Epsilon, Who’s Who, Student Centennial Council, OSU Foundation telemarketer, Blue Key, AP calculus assistant, Greek rush counselor, and vice president of Chi Omega sorority.
Dr. Knoll graduated with her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine with election into Alpha Omega Alpha in 1997. An orthopedic residency was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, in 2002. After a hand and microvascular fellowship at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, she returned to Dallas in 2003.
Dr. Knoll is a partner of OrthoTexas in North Texas. She is board certified in orthopedic surgery and surgery of the hand. She serves on OrthoTexas’ executive board and has served on peer-review committees at local hospitals. Dr. Knoll has published in the Journal of Hand Surgery and in Hand Surgery Update 3. She has been voted Best Hand Surgeon in both Dallas and Collin County by her peers.
Dr. Knoll is married to Richard B. Thropp, M.D., of Charleroi, Pennsylvania. They enjoy two daughters, Olivia and Ava, ages ten and eight, who teach them the meaning and purpose of life.
Dr. Knoll has established the Victoria Dorothy Knoll Scholarship Fund in the College of Arts & Sciences to give back to the university who has given her so much. Dr. Knoll is very honored to receive this special award.
