Thomas Mancino

Born and raised in Tulsa, Major General Thomas H. Mancino was appointed as Adjutant General by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt in November 2021. In this function, he serves as the top military advisor to the governor and commands the 8,000-plus members of the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard.
General Mancino was commissioned in 1992 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps
here at Oklahoma State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in political
science. Prior to receiving his commission, General Mancino served for six years as
an enlisted soldier in the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
General Mancino’s roles have included Oklahoma Army National Guard assistant adjutant
general, 90th Troop Command commander, and director of Information Technology/G6.
He has commanded at the company, battalion and brigade levels.
Major General Mancino’s multiple combat tours include Iraq and Afghanistan, most recently
commanding Task Force Cheyenne in Laghman province Afghanistan. There he led a combined
arms task force against Taliban forces.
Major General Mancino has a strong interest in technology and its integration into
modern war fighting. He is a prior Army Cyber officer and holds advanced IT certifications.
He is especially excited by the joint work between the Oklahoma National Guard and
Oklahoma State University in the area of developing counter-drone technology.
