Jerry Overton grew up on a ranch in southwest Oklahoma and graduated from Walters High School in 1965. He attended Cameron Junior College, Oklahoma State University (B.S. and M.S. in Geography) and the University of Oklahoma (Ph.D. in Geography) then again attended OSU to acquire a second M.S. in Geology with an emphasis in Hydrogeology.

 

Dr. Overton taught at the university level at Fort Hays State College, Cameron University and the University of Central Arkansas for 14 years. After completion of the second M.S. degree in Geology he entered environmental consulting. In 1994 Dr. Overton began what is today ATOKA, Inc. an Engineering and Environmental Consulting Firm with headquarters in Hot Springs, Arkansas and satellite offices in Little Rock and El Dorado, Arkansas. Dr. Overton has served as President and CEO of ATOKA, Inc. since 1994.

 

Dr. Overton provides a wide range of Hydrogeology and Hydrology services and regularly provides expert witness services. Dr. Overton has traveled for work throughout the US and overseas. He has been to Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Libya and is scheduled to travel to Nigeria this fall. Dr. Overton serves on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Department of Geosciences Advisory Board.
