Colonel Terrie Parker, the first female Cadet Corps Commander of AFROTC Det. 670 at OSU, graduated as a Distinguished Graduate and was commissioned in the United States Air Force (USAF) in 1979.  She served nearly 25 years as an Intelligence Officer with world-wide assignments ranging from tactical units to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

 

 The intelligence she provided informed U.S. responses to crises around the globe.  She is a Distinguished Graduate of Squadron Officers School and Air Command and Staff College and was selected as a National Defense Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. She retired as Deputy Director of Intelligence for Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, Va. in 2003.


After retiring Terrie volunteered with the Nevada Civil Air Patrol (CAP) where she earned the Gill Robb Wilson Award, CAP ’s highest senior professional development award.
She is actively involved with Sweet Adelines International, singing a cappella barbershop harmony in multiple regional and international competitions over the last 15 years as well as serving as President of her local chorus.


She resides in Las Vegas, N.V., with Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Rick Parker, her husband of 45 years and fellow OSU grad, plus three Doberman Pinschers.
