Greg Slavonic

Greg Slavonic is the former Acting Under Secretary of the Navy and previously served as 18th Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs. After a distinguished 34-year career in the Navy/Navy Reserve, he retired as a Rear Admiral. Prior to joining the Department of Defense, Greg served as the first Chief of Staff for U.S. Senator James Lankford.
Greg served combat deployments to Vietnam, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His final assignment was the Navy’s Sixth Special Assistant to Chief of Information.
Greg has held various civilian, senior-level positions in the communications industry and is currently CEO for the defense consulting company Blue Water Strategies. He has written two books on leadership development and co-authored a book on the American Olympian Jim Thorpe.
An OSU journalism and broadcasting graduate, Greg is actively involved with many boards and organizations, including the Board for ChemResearch Corporation, Advisory Board for Next Dynamics, Inc., the USS Oklahoma Memorial, and the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame.
