Craig Spaulding, Ph.D.
2024 Distinguished Alumni
B.S. Microbiology and Molecular Genetics '78
Dr. Craig Spaulding is a proud Oklahoma State alumnus, graduating in 1978 with a B.S. in microbiology. He attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry and became a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1983.
In search of a place to start his practice and raise a family, Craig connected with
fellow OSU grad, dentist and then-Stillwater mayor Jon Patton. Under Dr. Patton’s
mentorship, Craig established and grew his own Stillwater practice over the past 41
years. He became a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Dental Association, the American
Dental Association, a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and a fellow in the
Pierre Fauchard Academy for International Dentistry.
As well as serving on the Board of Governors and the Oklahoma House of Delegates for
the Oklahoma Dental Association, Craig is involved in the Stillwater community through
the Lions Club, parks and recreation sports, the United Methodist Church and cheering
on the Cowboys.
Along with being a guest speaker in OSU professor Tyrrell Conway’s “Professional Transitions
in Microbiology” class, Craig — along with his wife Brenda — support microbiology
students through their endowed scholarship fund.
Craig retired from his practice this spring and plans on enjoying time at Disney World
with his family filled with OSU graduates: Brenda (history ’77), daughter Rebekah
(history ’12 and MBA ’16), son Clint (finance ’08), daughter-in-law Katie and grandkids
Graham, Vivian and Heath. “All future Cowboys,” Craig said.
