Dana Stone

B.A. French '78, B.A. German '78
Dana Stone graduated from OSU with double Bachelor of Arts in German and French in 1978. Stone and her husband got to know each other in their German class freshman year. They worked and travelled through Europe after graduation before returning to OSU for graduate studies a year later.
Stone eventually chose to study medicine and completed pre-medical requirements at OSU. She started medical school when her children were 5 and 3 years old. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.
She has practiced obstetrics and gynecology at the Lakeside Women’s Hospital for more than 20 years. She enjoys her office and surgical practice and still delivers babies. She is a hospital owner and practice partner and has held many hospital leadership positions, including the chief of staff and chair of the board.
Women’s health is Stone’s passion, and she has been involved in many organizations to promote reproductive health including Planned Parenthood and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She currently serves on ACOG’s national board.
She has been married to Larry for 42 years. They enjoy traveling the world and keeping up with their language skills, but their favorite time is spent with their son, daughter and four grandkids.
Stone was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society as well as the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
