Kimberly Summe is the Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer of Sequoia Capital Global Equities. Previously, she was the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Partner Fund Management, L.P. and Stillwater Investment Management, L.P. She has served as a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers and General Counsel at the International Swaps and Derivatives Association. She started her career as an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in San Francisco.
She received a B.A. in history from OSU, an M.S. in international relations from The
London School of Economics, a Bachelor of Laws and an M.A. from The University of
Cambridge, and a J.D. from The University of Chicago. She has published over 20 articles
on a variety of corporate law topics and is a Lecturer in Law at the Stanford Law
School. She is a member of the Hoover Institute’s working group on bankruptcy reform.
She is on the Investment Committee of the OSU Foundation and the Executive Committee/Board
of Directors for the Multilateral Endowment Management Company. She is also member
of the Board of Trustees for Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton and Chair of its Investment
Committee, as well as Chairman of the Edgewood Center for Children and Families, a
170 year-old charity based in San Francisco. She previously served for four years
on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Managed Funds Association,
a group that represents the asset management industry.
