Dr. Jonathan D. Teubner is the founder and CEO of FilterLabs.AI, a data analytics company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, that leverages machine learning models to fuse sentiment analysis with economic, social and political indicators to offer a more granular and holistic picture of beliefs and behavior.
Jonathan is also a research faculty member at Harvard University’s Institute for Quantitative
Social Science, where he directs social connectedness research within the Human Flourishing
Program.
In addition to running his startup and researching at Harvard, Jonathan has held faculty
positions at the Australian Catholic University and at the University of Virginia.
There he led a collaborative team of data scientists and scholars across the social
sciences to create AI tools to predict political and social violence.
Outside of academia, Jonathan has served as director of Global Covenant Partners,
a non-governmental organization focused on reducing and preventing religion-related
violence in the Middle East and South Asia. He’s also worked as an economist at Lehrman,
Bell, Mueller and Canon in Washington, D.C.
Jonathan is routinely consulted by senior policymakers in the U.S. and U.K., and his
insights and analysis have appeared in The New York Times, The Economist and The Hill.
He is regularly interviewed by BBC, CNN, Scripps News and NBC Nightly News.
While at OSU, Jonathan studied economics. He then went on to earn a master’s degree
from Yale and a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge. He has held fellowships at
the Sorbonne in Paris and the Humboldt-Universität in Berlin.
