Randy Couture is known as “The Natural” in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) circles and a “jackof-all-trades” as a writer, broadcaster and actor in the TV & film industry.
Couture is also an OSU Cowboy, having graduated from OSU in 1992 with his B.A. in German. At OSU, he is more well known as a three-time All-American wrestler & two-time runner up in the NCAA wrestling championships.
However, it was his six years in the U.S. Army prior to his arrival in Stillwater that influenced his wrestling abilities & his desire to study the German language. He retired from competition at the age of 47 but continues to be a highly respected presence in the field.
More recently, Couture has been involved with The Expendables film franchise, appearing in all three installments. He played a recurring character on CBS’ “The Unit” in a role written specifically for him. Other film credits include “The Set Up” opposite Bruce Willis, David Mamet’s “Red Belt” & a starring role in “The Scorpion King: The Akkadian.”
Additionally, Couture dedicates time to running his Xtreme Couture MMA gym, clothing line & G.I. Foundation. He is also the author of four books, including New York Times Bestseller Becoming the Natural: My Life In & Out of the Ring.
Now retired from MMA fighting, Couture looks forward to continuing his roles outside the ring. Couture has three children: Ryan, Aimee, & Caden.
