William Hua, Ph.D., is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma & graduated from OSU in 2006 with a B.S. in psychology. He received his doctorate degree in Clinical Health Psychology & Behavioral Medicine from the University of North Texas in 2012 & received internship & fellowship training through the VA Palo Alto Health Care System.
Dr. Hua now works as a clinical health psychologist at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, providing integrated care services for veterans living with HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, & other infectious diseases. He is also the Chair of the Psychology Diversity Committee & is dedicated to improving multicultural training & diversity-related programming at the VA.
Dr. Hua is concurrently an assistant clinical professor at the University of California San Francisco & an adjunct assistant professor at the University of San Francisco. He is the co-founder of a nonprofit organization called Here to Hope, established in 2009, which focuses on promoting health & education for orphaned & vulnerable children living in Guyana, South America. He enjoys running, playing tennis, finding bargains on travel, cooking, eating his way through every neighborhood in San Francisco, & spending time with his friends & very large extended family.
