Welcome to our FAQ section! Here, we've compiled answers to many of the common questions we receive at the Visual Resource Center. You'll find helpful information about our processes, including some lesser-known details.
- How do I schedule a service appointment?If you would like to schedule a service appointment, please visit our bookings page HERE. If you need assistance walking through this process, you may refer to our step-by-step PDF walkthrough or you may contact us.
- Can I re-schedule a service appointment?Yes, you may re-schedule a service appointment but you will need to cancel your original consult appointment and then re-schedule. If you have trouble cancelling your appointment please email us at osuartvrc@okstate.edu and we will help resolve the issue.
- Can I cancel a service after it's been booked? If so, how?Yes, you may cancel your service appointment after it's been booked as long as it's within 24 hours. In order to cancel, you will need to contact us at (405)-744-3281 or email us at osuartvrc@okstate.edu.
- What happens if I checkout an item and return it late?If you check out an item and it is not returned within the contractually agreed time, you will be charged a $5 penalty fee per day for each day the item is missing directly to your bursar account until it is returned.
- What should I do if I don't recieve my Zoom link to join the consult?If you are having trouble recieving your Zoom link, please call us at (405) 744-3281 or email us at osuartvrc@okstate.edu and someone will assist you in getting it re-sent.
- What happens if I break or damage the item(s) I had checked out?If you break or damage an item from the Visual Resource Center that was checked out in your possesion, you will be liable for all damages to replace or fix the damaged item(s) which will be directly charged to your Bursar account.
- What if I'm unable to make it to my appointment?If you are unable to make it to your appointment you will need to cancel atleast 24 hours ahead of time, otherwise you will be charged a small penalty fee of $10 for the absent service appointment.
Please note, many student's need the VRC and when you book a time and don't show up, you take a time slot another student could've used. Therefore, please make sure to cancel in advance if you are unable to make it to your service appointment. - Can I schedule a service appointment without a consult?No, in order to use any of the equipment on the bookings page you will need to attend a consulatation first and then you may use the equipment. Please note, you DO NOT need a consult to use the basic laser printers or to check out books, cameras, tripods, cords, attachments, etc. these can be checked out by walk in requests.
- Can I check out an item for an entire semester?In order to check out an item for an entire semester, you will need to get approval from the VRC coordinator as well as your professor for which class you will need the item for. After both approvals have been made, you may use said item(s) for the entirety of your semester before returning them.
- Can I double schedule appointments for more time with equipment?Yes, you may schedule two appointments if you need more time with equipment. However, you will need to attend an online consultation for both appointments.
- Am I charged for the supplies or the service?You will only be charged a fee directly to your bursar account for the ink and paper used within the VRC. However, the service is free of charge, as we're here to assist you.
- If I rent a laptop from the VRC, does it come pre-loaded with software, such as Adobe
Creative Cloud?Yes, all computers and tablets come pre-loaded with the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
