Assessing the Quality of Your Online Course

To set our students up for success, it is necessary that we try to offer the highest quality online courses possible. But how do you know if your course is high quality?

It’s important to consider more than your end-of-semester student evaluation scores. There are many factors that impact a course’s quality including design, accessibility, and opportunities for engagement.

You can assess the quality of your course at any time, but it’s best to start thinking about course quality before you even start building it. A tool like the Open SUNY Course Quality Review rubric (OSCQR) can outline standards for best practice in building online courses and guide you as you design your course.

The video below will provide further information about OSCQR and how you can use it to evaluate your course.
