Welcome to the SecNet Lab

The mission of Security & Networking (SecNet) research lab is to advance the state-of-the-art technologies in network security, data privacy, applied cryptography, wireless networking, and mobile computing, and prepare the next generation of researchers, developers, and educators in these areas by working on cutting-edge technologies and investigating high-impact research projects. The SecNet lab provides a diverse and rich educational and research environment promoting interdisciplinary research projects and serving the students of Oklahoma State University as well as its region.


Research Philosophy

The research philosophy of SecNet lab can be summarized as follows: identify a research problem, review the existing literature, define a research gap, propose a theoretical solution, build an experimental framework and a prototype, and finally conduct extensive experiments.


About the Lab Director

Dr. Cong Pu is a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science, Oklahoma State University (Stillwater, Oklahoma). He received Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science degrees from Texas Tech University, USA, and B.S. in Computer Science and Technology degree from Zhengzhou University, China. His primary research interests include network security, data privacy, applied cryptography, wireless networking, and mobile computing.

The SecNet lab is looking for self-motivated and hardworking graduate and undergraduate students to explore research in the areas of network security, data privacy, applied cryptography, wireless networking, and mobile computing. If you are interested in the above research areas, please contact Dr. Cong Pu to find out more details. Visiting scholars are welcome for co-work at the Oklahoma State University (Stillwater, Oklahoma).
