Graduate Certificate Program in Big Data Analytics


Overview

The goal of the big data analytics program is to facilitate the capture, curation, storage, search, transfer and analysis of large and complex data sets that have direct relevance to everyday situations and problems through interdisciplinary education, research, service and outreach.

The graduate certificate in Big Data Analytics may be completed in conjunction with the Masters degree in Computer Science, without enrolling in any hours.

 

The following classes are required for the certificate:

  • STAT 5023 Statistics for Experimenters II

  • CS 5433 Big Data Management

  • CS 5683 Big Data Analytics

  • CS 5783 Machine Learning

*These classes may be taken online. 

The classes taken to satisfy these requirements must be listed in the Plan of Study

 

Application Deadlines

Graduate students enrolled at OSU who are planning to graduate in the Spring semester have an application deadline of March 31 of the graduating year.

Graduate students enrolled at OSU who are planning to graduate in a Summer semester have an application deadline of July 1 of the graduating year.

Graduate students enrolled at OSU who are planning to graduate in a Fall semester have an application deadline of October 31 of the graduating year.

Applications from those who are not already enrolled at OSU and who are planning to enter the certificate program only have an application deadline of May 1 for fall enrollment and September 1 for spring enrollment.
