English Graduate Student Association (EGSA)

The English Graduate Student Association (EGSA) is a professional and social organization with goals that include empowering graduate students with a voice in departmental affairs, encouraging relationships between graduate students, and fostering relationships between Graduate Students and faculty.

The EGSA is a venue for graduate students to make recommendations to the Department Chair and the Graduate Director regarding non-teaching assignments, evaluation of graduate programs, and graduate student grievances.

EGSA promotes interaction between members of the various specializations within the English department. It is the EGSA’s strong belief that graduate students in each specialization can learn from the others, so EGSA facilitates interaction between our diverse membership to further our common goals.

EGSA offers travel awards in order to support English graduate students in their professional development. The EGSA is also offering Emergency Funds for English Graduate Students that are facing hardships. For more information on these, please follow this link.
