Mission

The mission of the Center for Applications of Remote Sensing (CARS) is to facilitate the collection and analysis of remotely sensed data for projects sponsored by state, federal, private and non-for-profit agencies and organizations. In addition to pursuing grants and contracts, CARS faculty and staff support undergraduate and graduate instruction involving remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS).

Research Facility

CARS is housed in a 400 square foot facility and a UAS lab with multiple computer stations and software for image processing. CARS field equipment includes unmanned aerial system (UAS) aircrafts, field spectroradiometers and surveying grade GPS's.
