Hakelaho'imaiokalani (Hakela) Ogden

Bio

Hakelahoʻimaiokalani Ogden is an MA history student studying 19th century legal and political history of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi. She recieved her BA from Utah Tech University in history with minors in political science and philosophy. Hakela is also a member of Phi Alpha Theta National Hisotry Honor Society. Her research is currently focused on the international relationship between Hawaiʻi and Korea during Hawaiʻi's governmental transitoinal period at the end of the 19th century and the impact Western Imperialism had on the relationship. Being Kanaka ʻŌiwi (Native Hawaiian), Hakela's academic mission revolves around uplifting her community and serving it how she can. ʻO kā mākou moʻolelo koʻu kuleana no ko mākou wā e hiki mai ana.
