OSU Athletic Bands
Cowboy Marching Band
The Cowboy Marching Band, or ‘CMB’, is housed by the Greenwood School of Music at Oklahoma State University. The CMB is an auditioned ensemble that requires registration for participation. Registration in this course is open to any student of the various academic disciplines provided at Oklahoma State University.
Throughout the fall, the Cowboy Marching Band performs at all home Oklahoma State football games and sends pep bands to travel to away games. Additional performances include bowl games, pep rallies, parades, and a special halftime show with the Alumni Band. The CMB makes guest appearances at many campus and community events that spotlight the popularity of the band. Fall rehearsals are held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and also prior to kickoff on game days.
Spirit Band
The Spirit Band is a pep-band comprised of Oklahoma State University students that provides support for athletic teams, lively entertainment at athletic events, and represents Oklahoma State University, University Bands, and the Athletics Department with class, enthusiasm, and professionalism. The Oklahoma State University Spirit Band performs for OSU Men’s and Women’s Basketball. OSU has accumulated 48 NCAA National Championships, the fourth-most in NCAA history. Only Stanford, USC and UCLA own more national titles. Participation in Spirit Band gives you a front row seat for some of these historic events.
