Academy Singers 

The OSU Academy Singers provides young people from grades 1 through 12  the opportunity to sing quality choral music representing a variety of styles, eras, and cultures. Singers will expand their vocal development, enhance their musicianship skills, and experience a variety of traditional and contemporary repertoire appropriate for their age and vocal maturity.

About Us 

The OSU Academy Singers program is dedicated to providing singers grades 1 through 12 quality music instruction in a choral setting. Repertoire includes a mixture of traditional, multicultural, and contemporary music designed to expand our students' musical horizons. Academy Singers is broken down into two age groups: our Primary Level for grades 1-6, led by Dr. Lívia de Moraes,  and our Secondary Level for grades 7-12, led by Dr. Ben Kambs.

 

Primary Level

Group focus includes the development of beautiful tone along with music reading and performing skills through unison, 2- and 3-part treble singing (SA and SSA). Academy Singers Primary Level takes place on Wednesdays 5:00PM-6:00PM in the Greenwood School of Music, Room 101.

 

Secondary Level

Musicianship is further developed and students have the opportunity to engage in 4-part singing (SATB). Academy Singers Secondary Level takes place on Thursdays from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the Greenwood School of Music, Room 319.

 

Academy Singers tuition is $100 per semester if selected individually. If taking vocal lessons, Academy Singers is automatically included in the tuition.
