The HEDR Lab team presented their research at the 2024 Rural Renewal Symposium in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Their work shows that rural students enrolled in college-level civics grow significantly in political efficacy, especially first-generation rural students. This is encouraging the health of democracy in rural areas, as efficacy is associated with greater civic engagement. The team would like to thank the Rural Renewal Initiative for the opportunity to present their work.
