Dr. Abramson's Lab

Comparative Psychology and Behavioral Biology

The Comparative Psychology and Behavioral Biology Laboratory at Oklahoma State University is headed by Dr. Charles Abramson.  Our research spans many taxa with an emphasis on invertebrate behavior. Research interests include neuronal mechanisms of learning and memory, comparative analysis of behavior, and behavioral toxicology of pollutants and drugs.

International Experiences

Brazil

The Abramson laboratory has been working to build a strong bond with the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology in Paraíba, Brazil and will be beginning a student exchange program in the near future.

France

Through the PIRE Grant the Abramson laboratory has been able to work closely with the scientists at the French National Institute for Agricultural Research for the past two years.  This allows us to learn new techniques from and create networks with top international researchers.

Turkey

Through a newly received National Science Foundation Partnerships for International Education (NSF-PIRE) grant we have established a multi-national network of research which includes the Middle East Technical Institute in Ankara, Turkey.  Additionally the laboratory has a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (NSF-REU) in Bursa and Ankara, Turkey.
