Sarvi Amjadi
Graduate Research Associate
Bio
Sarvi was born and raised in Tulsa, OK after her parents immigrated to the United States from Iran in the 1980s—making her and her siblings the first generation of Iranian Americans in their family. She graduated from Baylor University (TX) in 2016 with a BA in Sociology. Working as a healthcare professional from 2016 to 2019, she simultaneously earned an MBA in healthcare administration from Belmont University (TN). She is continuing her education at OSU to address racial and ethnic inequity within administrative and social systems in hopes of reducing existing gaps.
Sarvi is currently a graduate teaching and research assistant in the Sociology department working with Dr. Rachel Schmitz towards her thesis (MS) which she will defend in Spring 2023. She is collaborating her research with Dr. Tami Moore (OSU-Tulsa) and associates on the May 6th Initiative, a community research project for reproductive health equity.
