Physics: The Foundation of Science
Physics plays a pivotal role in preparing us to embark on the 21st century. The physics
program at OSU prepares students to be competitive in a wide variety of career opportunities,
ranging from science and engineering to law and business. Opportunities exist for
specialization in a wide range of topics, including practical study in state-of-the-art
research laboratories.

OSU to host IPT 2026
200+ students & faculty will make journey to Stillwater for week-long competition
For the first time in its history, the International Physicists’ Tournament will be
hosted in the United States — at Oklahoma State University. In May 2026, representatives
from 21 universities acround the globe will come to Stillwater to compete. Read the

QIS-AI Graduate Research Training Program
The newly established QIS-AI Traineeship Program at Oklahoma State University (OSU),
funded by the National Science Foundation’s NRT award, is accepting applications for
QIS-AI Ph.D. Fellows beginning Fall 2026.
