Higher Education and Democracy Research (HEDR) Lab

The Higher Education and Democracy Research Lab (HEDR Lab) is an ongoing research endeavor that examines how college level civics coursework impacts students’ understanding and perceptions of American government and politics. The HEDR Lab is continuing to examine the extent to which individual-level characteristics (e.g., gender, race and geographic location) and the structure of a course (e.g., class size, format and active/ interactive teaching) shape the impact of college-level civics coursework.
