Graduate Students

Jaely Deleon-Wright headshotJaely Deleon-Wright

Jaely is a first-year Ph.D. student and the lab coordinator for the SeEDS Lab. She earned her Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. She has worked in clinical and research settings throughout her career. Her research focuses on how childhood adversity and parental stress can influence child self-regulation, especially those in marginalized and underserved communities. When Jaely isn’t immersing herself in research, she unwinds by diving into books, podcasts and having a dance party to a Taylor Swift playlist with her kids and partner. She also enjoys traveling, making memories with her family and visiting local coffee shops.

 

Immanuela-Nicole Enwesi headshot

Immanuela-Nicole Enwesi

Immanuela is a first-year graduate student at Oklahoma State University, where she is mentored by Dr. Lucia Ciciolla and Dr. Dian Yu. She earned her B.S. in Neuroscience and B.A. in French Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2024. As an undergraduate, she conducted research in the Child Development Lab under Dr. Nathan Fox and the Neurocognitive Development Lab under Dr. Tracy Riggins. During this time, she worked on the Origins of Infant Temperament Study with Dr. Fox and contributed to the Healthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) study with Dr. Riggins—a project she continues to be involved with at OSU-CHS. Her research focuses on maternal-infant interactions, particularly how their sleep patterns influence one another. She is also interested in early language acquisition and using MRI techniques to study brain development in infants.


Undergraduate Students

Seth Austin

Seth is currently a senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minoring in American Sign Language. He is interested in studying how mass media affects behavior. After graduating, Seth hopes to gather some work experience before applying for a Ph.D. program in psychology.

 

 

 

Bella Panganiban headshot

Bella Panganiban

Bella is a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology alongside her honors degree. She has been an undergraduate research assistant for the SeEDS lab since August of 2024. Bella is currently working on her undergraduate honors thesis which examines the correlations between parental adverse childhood experiences, parenting practices and child emotion regulation while controlling for the possible mediation of parenting practices. Her research interest is centered around parent-child relationships and healthy attachments in the early stages of life. Following the receipt of her bachelor's degree, she intends to continue her education by getting her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy and will later pursue a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Sciences. Bella intends to utilize her knowledge of family systems, her research skillset and her passion for helping others to give couples, families and individuals the tools and guidance they need to thrive. In her free time, Bella enjoys reading books, running, scrapbooking and listening to records.

Lorin Scott

Lorin is a first-year undergraduate student at Oklahoma State University. She is majoring in psychology and minoring in dance. Her eventual career goal is to be a school counselor or a private-practice therapist. Lorin joined this research lab because child development is a field she is interested in, and this opportunity will give her the research experience for my eventual graduate school path.

Madison Travis

Madison is currently a second-year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She has an interest in clinical psychology, particularly focusing on the assessment and treatment of psychological disorders. In the future, Madison intends to further her education by attending graduate school, where she aspires to earn a doctorate in clinical psychology, where she can work with people to better understand mental health and the factors that influence therapeutic outcomes.

 

Brylan Wandel headshot

Brylan Wandel

Brylan is a senior undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. His primary research interests focus on consciousness, altered states of awareness and understanding the psychological factors behind paranormal phenomena. Brylan plans to pursue a doctorate in Experimental Psychology. His long-term goals include becoming a professor and advancing research in parapsychology to bridge gaps between scientific inquiry and public understanding.

 

Emma Webb headshot

Emma Webb

Emma is an undergraduate student at Oklahoma State University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in American Sign Language. After several years of experience in different styles of dance, she is interested in researching the impact that creative movement can have on anxiety and stress in children and adults. She is also interested in research related to criminal profiling and criminology. She plans to attend graduate school studying forensic psychology.

Claire graduated from OSU in 2024. Her main research interests include socioemotional development within the context of family and culture and different parenting practices. In the future, she plans on attending graduate school to pursue a doctorate in Human Development and Family Sciences. She would like to become a professor and continue conducting research to help build better, stronger families.

Adam graduated from OSU in 2024. He is from Carrollton, Texas. He is interested in researching developmental psychology due to its impact on adulthood success, individual well-being and quality of life. He believes this knowledge and understanding that he gains through research will help him improve the quality of care and treatment he provides to future patients as an aspiring psychiatrist.
