Scholarships
Oklahoma State University and the College of Arts and Sciences offer a wide range of scholarships for prospective freshmen, transfer students, current students, and readmitted students. Scholarships are available at three levels:
- University-Level Scholarships
Students are automatically considered for general university scholarships when they submit their OSU admission application. No additional application is required. Visit OSU Scholarships and Financial Aid for more information. - College-Level Scholarships
Once you've completed 12 credit hours at OSU, you’ll be eligible to apply for scholarships offered by the College of Arts and Sciences. These awards recognize your academic achievements, leadership, and involvement. - Departmental Scholarships
In addition to college-wide support, departments offer scholarships tailored to students majoring in their specific programs. These awards are a great way to get recognized for your work in your field of study. Explore the full list of college and departmental scholarships to see what’s available in your major.
College-Level Scholarships
Scholarships are available for currently enrolled undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences who plan to continue as full-time students at OSU.
The CAS scholarship application opens each December in the Slate portal, with a deadline in early spring. This single application covers both college-level and department-level scholarships. Questions are customized based on your declared major—some departments include additional prompts, so your application may look different from a friend’s.
While not required for college-level scholarships, completing the application is strongly encouraged. It helps us match you with all scholarships you may be eligible for. To be considered, you must be a full-time CAS student with at least 12 completed OSU credit hours, a minimum 2.0 OSU GPA, and a 2.0 graduation/retention GPA.
Scholarship selections are made each February for the following academic year. Recipients will be notified via email in late February.
Award Details
Scholarship amounts vary by award. Recipients will receive half of the total amount in the fall and the remaining half in the spring, contingent upon continued full-time enrollment in the College of Arts and Sciences. While students are considered for all eligible scholarships, only one award will be granted per student.
Eligibility
To be considered for CAS scholarships, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be pursuing a first major in the College of Arts and Sciences. (Students with only a second major, second degree, or minor in CAS are not eligible—please apply through your primary college.)

- Have completed at least 28 credit hours by the start of the fall semester of sophomore year.
